modular studios is an artist-run, open-concept studio shaped by community and collaboration. the idea for this space developed organically. the four of us, artists of color from lawrence with shared lived experiences, grew close over time. this deep connection led us to create together, exchange ideas, and support each other’s work. through this process, we recognized the true value of collaboration. inspired by this understanding, we created mod as a space for co-creation and connection for artists like us.
is an artist, photographer, and creative director based out of lawrence, ma, with a passion for what he does. he specializes in portraiture, fashion, and editorial, while also focusing on the documentation of his life experiences. mav’s passion and commitment can be seen in all of his personal work but also through the works made with various commercial brands and notable talents, including adidas, puma, macys, saucony, bodega, suicoke, and red bull, to name a few. even when he is not working, he always carries a camera with him, as he loves to travel and photograph the world around him. mav also specializes in film photography, as it brings him closer to his work on a physical level.

is a multi-dimensional poet and an innovative educator whose work revolves around liberation practices and dismantling psychological systems of oppression. his music and art are vessels for exploring ideas that seek to shift social and economic paradigms. to nate, every conversation is an experiment, an experience, and an invitation to learn more about yourselves and how to interact with the material conditions of the world. he is currently working on his first novel, which is a fictional story touching on the impending realities of technological advances and our withdrawal from nature.
